This wood comes in a variety of shades from dark red to brown, with darker grains. In Pakistan, it is called Pakistan Rosewood. The commonly used name rosewood comes from the long-lasting sweet scent and red colour of the wood. This wood is heavy, hard, oily and difficult to process, resistant to biotic and abiotic factors, more durable than other species.
