This impressive large wooden and painted tribal water
pot stand features stylised carved Afghan designs.
It’s clearly very old, possibly from the 19th century or
even earlier.
Hidden away in a barn for twenty years, this stand
has remained untouched since it was brought from
this region before the Taliban. Many pieces of
furniture from this area, including those from
Pakistan, are over-restored. Even if they’re original
and made of old wood, they’re over-cleaned and
highly polished, so we believe it’s nice to show them
as they would be in the mountains.
Each wooden pot stand we create is a testament to
the craftsmanship of our skilled Afghan artisans.
