The hand woven baskets as the name implies are like big earthen laundry. The shapes and sizes of these baskets vary and add beauty to the product. Some are taller while others could be rounder and fatter. The sizes normally are 18" wide to 24" high. The material used are date tree leaves and river grass known as "SUR" in the local area.

These coil baskets are estimated to have 3,000 to a staggering 10,000 stitches that are all done by hand. For anyone it is just agonising to even count these stitches leave alone actually stitching the basket. A single hand woven potter basket takes almost seven days to weave. We believe that one day these truly amazing pieces of art will eventually become extinct as people from this area are moving to other profitable jobs. Assortments only.
