An exceptionally beautiful, original, huge floor vase, 93 cm high, hand-woven in Pakistan from date palm leaves. The palm leaves are separated into narrow strands, dried, dyed with natural dyes and dried again. The strands of leaves prepared in this way are spirally wrapped around bundles of dried mizri grass. These vases are very stable and stiff, they hold their shape perfectly. Like all products made of various types of wicker, they are sensitive to water, therefore they are suitable as covers for pots or vases with live plants or for dry compositions. These gigantic woven vases make an impression, and their minimalist, geometric patterns and sparse colours fit perfectly into a modern environment. Such items can be a unique highlight of the interior - as a cover for the pot of a large exotic plant: a date palm, banana tree or olive tree. In Pakistan, only about 100 such large vases are made each year, and only a handful of the most experienced weavers make them. A vase like this consists of over 3,000 braids and takes about 2 weeks to make. Vases of this size and complexity of design are collector's items, few of which can be found anywhere in the world.
